This leaflet is aimed at you if you are a building owner, user or managing agent and are having maintenance, small-scale building work or other minor works carried out in connection with a business – as you will be a client with legal duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).
Following the simple steps in this leaflet will help you meet your responsibilities as a client and ensure construction work and repairs are undertaken safely and without damaging worker’s and other people’s health.
Managing health and safety in construction Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) came into force on 6 April 2015, replacing CDM 2007.
This publication provides guidance on the legal requirements for CDM 2015 and is available to help anyone with duties under the Regulations.
It describes:
- The law that applies to the whole construction process on all construction projects, from concept to completion; and
- What each dutyholder must or should do to comply with the law to ensure projects are carried out in a way that secures health and safety.
Principal Designer (PD) competencies for CDM 2015
This document is for guidance only and reproduced with the kind permission of the Consultants Health and Safety Forum
An individual or team undertaking the PD role must have the competencies listed in the document.
